About us
Our Story – FK Aircraft
Innovation with Tradition – Over 30 Years of Passion and Progress
The FK Aircraft story began in the early 1990s with a clear vision: to develop light aircraft that combine outstanding performance, efficiency, and design – while remaining affordable and reliable.
Founder Peter Funk, an aviation enthusiast and skilled engineer, laid the foundation for one of Europe’s most successful ultralight aircraft manufacturers.
The 1990s – A New Era Takes Off
In 1992, FK Aircraft introduced its first model – the FK9. This versatile and reliable ultralight aircraft quickly set new standards in its class.
As the first certified composite aircraft in this category, the FK9 marked FK Aircraft as a true pioneer.
The 2000s – International Breakthrough
With the launch of additional models like the FK12 Comet – a biplane with impressive aerobatic potential – and the FK14 Polaris – an aerodynamically optimized touring aircraft – FK Aircraft established a strong presence on the global stage.
The brand gained recognition not only across Europe but also in the United States and Australia.
The 2010s – Innovation & Strategic Partnerships
The 2010s brought a wave of technological development and strategic collaboration.
New materials, modern avionics, and aerodynamic refinements were continually integrated into the aircraft lineup.
FK Aircraft partnered closely with industry and research institutions to set new benchmarks in ultralight aviation.
Today – Precision, Quality, and Passion
Today, FK Aircraft stands for more than 30 years of German engineering, aviation passion, and forward-thinking innovation.
With an experienced team, a strong network of pilots, dealers, and developers, and a clear vision for the future, FK Aircraft continues to redefine the art of light aviation – making flying smarter, safer, and more efficient than ever.
